ICCA’s Researcher of the Month goes to Istanbul for first time!
The International Congress and Convention Association’s (ICCA) Researcher of the Month award has arrived in Istanbul for the first time. Eda Kocabas, Congress Assistant at the Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau (ICVB), has been awarded the title of Researcher of the Month for her extensive contributions to the ICCA Association Database.
The database and statistics prepared by the ICCA, one of the world’s most important associations for the International Congress and Meetings sector, are central to the Congress and Meetings industry and illustrate the significant growth of the sector in key cities around the world. Every month of the year the ICCA Research Department awards an ICCA member Researcher of the Month based on specific criteria. That award has now arrived in Istanbul for the first time, awarded to Istanbul CVB Congress Assistant Eda Kocabas in April in recognition of her extensive contributions to the ICCA database.
Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau General Manager Ozgul Ozkan Yavuz said: “We are very proud that the Istanbul CVB has been awarded title of Researcher of the Month for the first time in recognition of the results of our meticulous research into the congress sector this past year. Commenting on the significance of the ICCA database in assessing the congress and meeting industry, Yavuz continued: “By continually updating the sector’s profiles we have made a significant contribution to the ICCA database, which other ICCA members can now make use of and vice versa. By utilising this database we are able to reach out more effectively to the international associations market and as a result of this knowledge-sharing, a positive domino effect has been created stimulating even greater interaction between ICCA members.”
