Turkiye’s and Istanbul’s meeting industry is adapting and recharging extensively for the “new normal”

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC) and Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau’s (ICVB) main focus is helping keep both its employees and industry players healthy and safe by taking preventative measures.

Even though it is inevitable for all global industries to experience financial losses, with the help of the government and other industry organizations, Istanbul CVB has been working to support Istanbul’s industry shareholders.

In order to accelerate the flow of information within the industry and to compile the opinions of the industry, ICVB has been hosting and attending various online events for its members and Istanbul’s meeting industry. Due to the pandemic, ICVB qualifies 2020 as the year of planning, 2021 as the year of rehabilitation and 2022 as the year of normalization. In order for Istanbul to keep up its rising trend within many industries, the city’s long- and short-term plans are being strategized accordingly.

Istanbul CVB has been hosting webinars through the city’s official digital brand One Istanbul. Thus far, under the name of One Istanbul Series, ICVB has hosted 7 different webinars and had the chance to review the agenda of Istanbul’s meeting industry from different perspectives.
