WTC Istanbul’s New Fairground Investment Displayed in Cannes
World Trade Center Istanbul attended MIPIM, the world’s leading real estate event that took place in Cannes, France on March 15-18, 2016, as exhibitor. At the WTC Istanbul booth, was displayed the model of the new fairground that is currently under construction at its current facilities.
The new fairground will be built gradually and it will eventually replace the existing one fully by the end of 2019. The completed fairground, which will have 300.000 square meters of exhibition space, will also include a two-storied shopping area and food court in the middle section of the structure. The cost of the whole investment is projected to be 500 million USD. This huge project also holds the “Leed Certificate” for having the green building standards that ensure it is respectful to humans and nature and highly efficient.
Mr. Ibrahim Caglar, President of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Vice Chairman of WTC Istanbul, introducing the project at the event, mentioned that the new fairground, which is designed to be one of the biggest and state-of-the-art exhibition centers of Europe, is expected to add enormous value to Istanbul and the global exhibition business.
The model of the new fairground drew much attention from the crowd, as well as other real estate projects of Istanbul that were on display.
