A proud heritage… Established in 1969, Karavan is one of the oldest travel companies in Türkiye with over 40 years of experience in destination management. As a family, however, the Baltazzis who own and still run the company, boast an even greater history of providing top class hospitality, having hosted both the Sultans Abdul Mecid and Abdul Aziz at their home in the mid 19th Century. Aristide Bey Baltazzi was officially recognized for his contribution in organizing the first international exhibition in Istanbul (The “Osmanli Sergisi” – “The Ottoman Exhibition”) in 1863, which created the first tourism group movement ever to Türkiye. Current President Cav. Alex Baltazzi was the chairman of the organizing committee of the first International Tourism Fair in Türkiye, Meturex Izmir 1992 and 1993. To these experiences and traditions, the Baltazzi family has added modern methods and technology to create the Karavan of today, with its 3 distinctive brands; Kmice, Karavan Travel and Karavanmar, each of them leaders in their sector.
